Whether you think of it as a power color or the color of love, red should be a primary color in your closet.

“Red is such a fabulous color because it looks great on everybody,” says fashion enthusiast Roz Pactor.It’s her signature shade and the color of her number one accessory: her glasses! However, she says there are some red flags for wearing red.

“It’s not for the shy and the meek. It’s a power color and it definitely makes a difference,” she says.

First, don’t think of it as a color that clashes.

“I think that red could be considered a neutral. And I say that because it goes with everything,” Roz says.

Next, start small.

“If you’re starting off wearing red, I think it’s best as a pop color, not an all over color and when I talk about ‘pop’ colors, I mean just that touch of color that you put up against a neutral that really makes it pop,” she explains.

It could be jewelry, shoes, a clutch or just a touch of red in your outfit.

“One of the newest trends is colored bottoms, predominantly denim. If you wear a red bottom, keep everything else neutral,” Roz warns.

However, remember that red lips top off any look! Just remember to choose the red that works with your skin coloring, not with your outfit.

Roz has one last piece of advice.

“I think the poppies and those bright, orangey reds are spring reds. Certainly the burgundies and Bordeaux and the rich wine colors are much more fall appropriate. I think a true red works year round, works on any skin tone and is good for everybody,” says Roz.
